I know there are some people who have done this sort of a hookup before, but I
can't as of yet seem to find anyone to help me figure it out. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

As for a driver for the ImageWriter II, it depends with what you want to
use the printer. For Windows, you can use the C. Itoh 8510 driver that's
included with Windows (or the Generic / Text Only driver), or a much
better shareware C. Itoh driver that supports the ImageWriter's best print
resolution (I can also send you that if you can't find it anywhere).
Some DOS programs have real ImageWriter drivers available, such as
Microsoft Word, PC-Write, The Print Shop, etc. Otherwise, try the C. Itoh
8510 driver if available, and if not you're stuck with using the text-only
ascii driver.
From DOS itself, you can set up the printer with a MODE command (9600
baud, 8, N, 1), and also redirect LPT1 output to the COM port the
ImageWriter is connected to. Then you can use it with things like EDIT
that don't let you select printer ports.
Hope this helps a bit.
Hey AOLer, this group is for 4DOS(the command.com replacement) so go post
somewhere else.

Ya know, it seems to me, that since he was dealing with the MODE command, and
MODE is definately a 4DOS command, his post was perfectly valid here. Simmer

MODE.COM comes standard with ms-dos. It's an external prog.
How come you think it's internal 4dos? I've got v. 5.5 rev. c
and unless JB suddenly decided to remove it ... Ceck your
help-file... Yes it *does* show up in the screen when you press
F1 but ... ooops! :) Never mind.
Hey check out my prompt:

No, it's not uuencoded :) Just remove all the cr/lf (no blanks)
You need an ANSI-driver to ...
