Is it possible that your mouse is playing up - take the ball out and
give it a good blow! (in the non-biblical sense of course :))

Rob,

You may want to go into your control panel and double, or in your case single click your mouse icon and ensure that the mouse you have is in fact the mouse listed under the general tab.  Your mouse driver may have gotten corrupted somehow, and you may need to reinstall it.  This is just an idea.....  If by chance you have Tweak UI installed, you may also want to ensure that under the mouse tab you have 2 clicks selected under mouse sensitivity.  If you don't have Tweak UI, you might want to get.  It's free off of Microsoft's home page, and installing it also may clear the problem.
