FAX software for Win 98

Hi,

I'm looking for some FAX software that stores received faxes in
a documented format rather that a proprietary format. My current
sofware Fritz!fax from AVM stores files with the extension .sff
which is a proprieritary format. It allows to convert to PCX format
which is quite usable.

However, if something goes wrong, the .sff files are not readable
and get either converted to an unreadable PCX file, i.e. 1786 x
68690 pixel, or don't get converted at all.

I thought about Symantec's WinFAX, but that seems to use a
proprietary format too.

Have you tried the old windows faxing software. I think that it saves
faxes in TIF format. The software workes under Win98 and is on the CD.
