How to convert some (unprotected) VOBs on hard disc to an AVI movie file ?

I have got some VOBs with some language audio tracks from a DVD onto my hard disc.
The source material is NOT protected/encrypted.

How can I conveniently convert these VOBs into av ANI movie (Divs or Xvid) ?
The target AVI should only contain ONE language.
I don't want to fiddle around with which VOB I have to convert.
I just want to say "Hey software, this is the directory with all the VOB stuff
encode it with bitrate 1050 kbps and use Divx and MP3 for audio with 128 kbps."
Thats all.
What is the best tools for such a task?
