Hey!

How can you reconfigure virtual com ports under windows95?

A typical example is when you have a laptop with one com port(9-pin ) and
possibly an ir interface, internal modem and maybe a pcmcia modem/network
card. Very often a modem places itself on say, com5. The 16-bit app
that the company is using only supports com port 1-4.

What we usually do is do disable some com port device so that windows95 places
the modem on com1-4. But is there another way of doing this?

Sometimes one of those com devices except the modem are needed and then
maybe com1,com2 and com5 is used. And as I said before, the modem(pcmcia)
always places itself on com5.

Thanx in advance!

Mathias
