I just picked up a very old Grid (Tandy) 1735(?) (B+W lcd screen!) and saved
it from the scrap heap/garbage dump. (Was being sold for $10, no one wanted,
so the owner was going to throw it out).
It's battery is dead, it has no PC slots, no modem, but it does run Win 3.11
workgroup.
Problem is, there is no driver "mouse.drv", and the Win95 mouse.drv is not
compatible (despite some posts on the newsgroups indicating that it is...)
Short of buying Win 3.11 (I doubt Microsoft even sells it anymore), is there
any way short of finding another Win 3.11 machine and "saving" it to get the
driver so I can use the PS/2 - Windows mouse?
The system will NOT boot unless the driver "nomouse.drv" is in the
C:\windows\system.ini file (ie, no mouse is present), and I can't find any
sources for simple mouse drivers which will work with Win 3.11.
The Grid didn't come with anything (ie, no Win 3.11 Disk 1 or Disk 2 or
whatever the setup disks were), so running setup.exe will not work, as it
asks for the Win 3.11 floppies to load/expand the drivers, including
mouse.drv.
I'd like to save this machine and keep it running as a monitor for system
logs and/or just something to play with (it beats throwing it out since it
is otherwise working), but without a mouse Win 3.11 is painful to use :)
Any help or sources would be appreciated...!
Thanks,

Hi John,
It's difficult to determine what's wrong with your PC based on
the information you've provided.
I suggest to check whether all the internal cables and memory
modules are fitted properly, and check the CMOS battery.
Also, there's no need to post your question as follow-up to
totally different tread, and quote whole article, unrelated to
your problem! ;-)
