lately I changed from Windows 3.1 to 3.11. My hard-disk has 2 logical
partitions(drives "C" and "D"). Windows is installed on drive D. In my
CONFIG.SYS I am loading "DEVICEHIGH=D:\WINDOWS\IFSHLP.SYS". So far so
good. The 32 bit-access works on drive D - but not on drive C. If I
load system-manager it says 16 bit-access on drive C, 32 bit-access on
drive D.
How do I have to configure the device so it works on both drives (of
course I got no handbook...)?
Thanx a lot
Martin

I've got a similar problem here. WfW 3.11 with a bus mastering SCSI-2 card.
According to the checkbox and Wintune 2.0, the 32BFA is enabled and working, but
the Enhanced settings in the control panel show my drives (I have the drive
partitioned) as using 16 bit. Anybody have any ideas?

Now this is real interesting... According to the control panel now, all drives
are 32-bit. The HD (2 logical partitions) and the CD-ROM (running from a SB16!)
Go figure!! Well, it's working, so I guess I'm not going to argue with
it.......

If anybody is interested: I solved my problem (thanks to Win 3.11 FAQ
! The "mischief-maker" was UnInstaller 3.0. In my CONFIG.SYS I loaded
"INSTALL=C:\FILOG.COM /I" - and that's the point. This software
prevents Win 3.11 from using the 32 bit-access. I removed it - voilà,
that's it.
Hope this may be useful to others. Go for Win 3.11 FAQ - it's worth
it!

The main cause of this is when a TSR opens a file and keeps it open.
32bit file access will not start on a drive where there is an open file.
Hope this help
