Greetings,
I would like my Help file to show a hyperlink to my company's website.
I have my rft document where I have created a hyperlink using Microsoft Word
97. If I click on the hyperlink within the rtf document, IExplorer fires up
and displays the page. However, when I compile the rtf document using
Microsoft Help Workshop 4.03, and I then look at the help file produced, all
I can see is that my hyperlink is displayed in blue but I cannot click on it
to open the webpage. Can anyone please help me. Thanks.

Remove the formatting that Word applied automatically to your trigger text. Ensure that
it is simple text (if Word tries to autoformat it, press CTRL-Z to cancel that). If you
want the trigger text blue, just change the colour using Format Font. Then use an EF
macro. Here's an example from mine:

http://www.guysoftware.com/planbee.htm*!EF(`http://www.guysoftware.com/planbee.htm')

The stuff from http: thru the first htm is coloured blue and double underlined (it can
be anything you like, it doesn't have to be the URL - it can even be just "click here").
The stuff from * though the second htm is set as "hidden text".

Many Help Author Tools will do this for you automatically, HELLLP!
(http://www.guysoftware.com/helllp.html) certainly can - in fact it will catch and
change the auto-formatting that Word inserts when it thinks you need a hyperlink.

Greetings Ed,
That worked like a charm. I shall check out your software. Thanks.
