I'm running win32s and the app I'm trying to make run seems to need
MSVCRT20.dll. Problem is I don't have it.

But I'm wondering...The app I'm trying to run was developed on and for
win95. This dll wouldn't be part of the win95 os would it? Can I use it
uder win32s? If so where can I get it?

Thanks.

I got my MSVCRT20.DLL from my MSVC 2.x CD-Rom.
Yes - it works under Win32s.

As I understood it there are two different versions of
MSVCRT20.DLL; one for Windows NT & 95, one for Windows 3.1 & 3.11
(ie. for use with Win32s)

Yiiks! You're right. You can find these two versions on the
MSVC 2.x CD-Rom, just make sure you get the NT version from \MSVC20\
and the Win32s version from \WIN32S\

Hmmmm.. I'm using the one for NT/95 (got it off MSDN 95) and it seems
to load ok. At this point though I don't know if it's working properly
because I haven't got the part of my program that uses it working yet.
If it is true that there are separate versions, I'd like to know how to
get hold of the win32s version. Anyone?

While we're on the subject are there any other dlls that have specific
win32s versions? Although I've gotten freecell to work on my
installation of win32s, the installation did not go cleanly and becuase
I am seeing flaky problems with OLE (ie., CoRegisterObjectClass fails)
I have this nagging concern that the install isn't quite right. NOTE: I
have uninstalled and re-installed once already, but the 2nd install
went just as unsmoothly.

In particular, I've read some MSDN articles about what files and
changes happen to your machine. There is no mention about ole2.dll,
ole2conv.dll, ole2prox.dll, ole2disp.dll, etc. which appear in the
win32s distribution directories and also naturally under win31.

There was no mention in any of the articles I've read about these files
and so there appears to be 3 options and I'm not sure what the
installation is supposed to do. In my case I don't think it did
anything:

1) the win32s versions supposed to be installed under
windows/system/win32s

2) they replace those by the same name under windows/system

3)the original versions that come with win31 stay put and are not
replaced.

Which option is correct? I picked 2.
