Hi,

Did you try using the Regsvr32.exe utility:

I want to know the current registration status without changing any of
them. As fas as I know, regsvr32 can only register and unregister
certain dll and ocx. There's no option for checking the registration
status.

TIA.

If you want to tell whether it is registered anywhere on the system, try
and create an object hosted in it.

To tell whether a specific instance is, I think you will need to find
out what IDs it registers then check the register for the correct path.

If you just want it to be registered, then do just that.
Registering a file twice won't do any harm at all.

Isn't there any simple tool to do a search for com? I was thinking
something like ole-com object viewer which is included in ms sdk v6.0
tools?
If any is familiar with ms ole-com object viewer, does it have the
feature to do a search for com name search?
I'm looking for simple and reliable tool.

TIA.

Yes, if you want to do it manually, the COM OLE Viewer with Visual Studio.
Entries are listed alphabetically so easy to scroll and quickly find an
object.
