I've just written my first ever OWL program. It looks nice but has
yet to do anything useful. I have encounterd a bit of a problem.

When I run my prog when the IDE is loaded it works. When I try to run
it when the IDE is not loaded I get

Object Windows Exception; Create fail for Window

I'm assuming this is beacuse a my program doesn't load a required DLL.

If this is the case;

How do I find out which DLL needs to be loaded?

How do I load it?

(If this is is not the case then how does I fix it?)

Please e-mail and post 'coz I check me mail more often
than I check newsgroups groups.

Thanks in advance.

This is a Frequently Asked Question (FAQ).
If you are a OWL-beginner, get the OWL-FAQ from ftp://ftp.netlab.cs.rpi.edu/pub/lists/owl-list-faq/drafts

Anwers:

Your application needs the BWCC.DLL. Put

EnableBWCC();

in your InitMainWindow() function of your application.

To figure out which DLLs your application requires, you can run TDUMP.EXE on your
application (it's part of the borland package).

If you are running Win95 you can use the "QuickView" utility (must explictly be
installed, only available on the CD-version of Win95).

Hope that helps.

This one gave us fits for a while too. All you need to do
is call the EnableBWCC(TRUE) method of your application
class before the application class creates is main window.

Probably you used some Borland Custom Controls. You should call EnableBWCC in
your TApplication or remove all BWCC items from your dialogs.
