'Stack Overflow' under w95, HELP NEEDED !!!

hi
my 16-bit-MFC-MDI-app runs fine under w 3.11 but crashes under w95.
'Stack Overflow' msg appears.
Stack Max number of windows i can open

below 22Kb NONE
above 25Kb 5, when i try to open 6-th, app crashes
i've heard that MFC's message maps eat a lot of memory.
may this cause the problem ?
somebody, help me.

p.s. don't advice me to increase stack -
'automatic data + stack exceeds 64kb'.
