Tivoli Systems, Inc. (http://www.tivoli.com) is seeking several full
time SENIOR USER INTERFACE DEVELOPERS to join its software development
team in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop User Interfaces for Tivoli's client/server
systems management applications.
2. Develop GUI software development kits and GUI components to be
used by Tivoli and its customers to create distributed client/server
applications.
3. Develop GUI extension kits and APIs that allow customers and users
to customize the User Interface to meet their own specific needs.
4. Prototype, design, test, and establish the next generation
desktop paradigm for Tivoli's distributed client/server management
applications.
5. Actively participate in establishing and evolving all facets of
user interface development including HCI design, prototyping,
usability testing, UI software development, unit and system test,
documentation, and production/shipment.
Mandatory Requirements:
1. 6-8 years designing and developing complex system-level
programs on Windows NT and Unix systems, preferably involving
heterogeneous networked, distributed, and/or RPC technology.
2. 3+ years of experience designing and developing User Interfaces on
Windows NT, Windows 95, or Windows.
3. Very strong knowledge of Windows NT, Windows 95, and Unix system
architecture and system calls, C (K&R and ANSI), and C++. Excellent
design, programming, and debugging skills.
4. Experience with several of the following: Visual C++, MFC, OLE,
OMG CORBA, IDL, Win32, ODBC, SNMP, Bristol Wind/U, CORBA,
Visual Basic, Java
5. Previous experience designing, developing and shipping commercial
applications in a Windows and/or UNIX environment is required.
6. Strong commitment to continue making a rapidly growing startup
company an exciting, challenging, and fun place to work.
7. Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
required.
8. US Citizenship or permanent resident status required.
Preferences:
1. Familiarity with systems management problems and issues in large
heterogeneous client/server environments.
2. Familiarity with distributed client/server applications and
Model-View-Controller User Interface development.
3. Knowledge of system administration in PC and UNIX environments.
4. Knowledge of object-oriented design.
5. Knowledge of multiple UNIX operating systems (e.g., HP-UX, AIX,
Solaris, OSF/1)
