Does anyone know where they got the data (where can a shmuck like me get it)
when it comes to some of the more recent keyboard layouts. I am familiar
with the keyboard layouts defined by IBM's National Language Standard
references for specific countries like Spain, "Russia", UK, etc etc
etc....mostly based on Code page definitions and country definitions (ISO
3166 country naming conventions). However where in the world would a poor
guy like me determine what the keyboard layout is for Uzbekistan? Hell,
Uzbekistan supposedly has a cyrillic and latin version of their layouts.
What are they basing their information on? Linux seems to base most of
their stuff off of the same IBM standard resources and define most things as
differences between the target keyboard layout and US english keyboard
layouts.
There is no hardware query that one can make to determine this. That I know
for a fact, so this is determined by a configuration knob in the operating
system. Hmmm....help?!
Granted, this is a fairly obscure question.....but someone has to have an
idea. I have Google'd my way through the 'net without a clue yet as to
where they got some of their information.
Thanks,
Mike
I don't know what standard MS used, but here is a page with all
layouts: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/keyboards/keyboards.asp
