The special edition of the latest version of a leading image editing
software is for sale on CD-ROM media only. The original package was NEVER
opened.

Price: $225.00

Why am I selling it?
I never needed it. Dell offered it to me along with multimedia
computer. It arrived later along with original registration card. I
confirmed legal authorization to sale the software with Dell
(1-800-553-6054) and with Aldus (206-628-4515).

Reference: A review in "Windows" magazine in Jan. 94 issue

Note: It is a special edition. Full featured upgrade from Aldus will cost
you an additional $100.00. For details of the features not included in
a special edition, please send me email or call me.

Compare: $514.00 (Dell), 459.00 (Egghead), $798 (list price)

Aldus Photostyler SE. I received it six months ago, with a scanner I bought.
I sent it back. It is a mostly crippled version of their expen$ive release.
Most annoyingly, all of the menu options are still there, and the only result
of selecting them is a nag screen that says, "This option only available on the
'Retail' release." RETAIL? What the hell did I buy? I ended up spending 30
minutes walking through the menu options, finding that I was a second-class (read
that "Non-Retail") customer who didn't deserve the any of the 'real' features.

I ended up testing half a dozen shareware products, and using one called PhotoShop.
For the price of Aldus' 'fake' version, you get a boatload of serious features. The
program is also quite robust; hasn't bombed on me once! I also tested one called
PaintMan. It, too was very good.

ALDUS PHOTOSTYLER SE : DO NOT BUY IT.
