COM1 not working with Win98

After installing Windows 98 beta 3 build 1650 my COM1 port on my Compaq
Armada 4150T is not responding anymore, nor for null modem communications,
nor for i.e. my Psion synchronisation.

Anyone having an idea?

1650 was very buggy. I am on build 1677 and so far is very stable.

I have yet to lose com ports on any of the beta's I've installed. 1650 was
bad. 1616 was the worst. As Allen says 1677 is pretty good. I would go to the
device manager and remove all the ports and let 98 re-detect them.

As always, remove the offending component and reboot! This one always works.
Problems with two devices? Remove both and reboot. Glad it helped
