Video Drivers?

Has anyone had problems running 1629 with standard VGA drivers? I loaded it
up on a system with a NEC 3fge monitor and trident PCI...all pretty standard.
Wont sync. I plugged in a Shamrock 15" I had and it works fine! Tried a NEC
3fgx and still no horiz sync.
