I just started working on the Beta 3 Release.

Problems:
1) It does a scan on boot up for my CD Rom, but can not find it. I get an
error and must "ABORT" the search. The CD Rom does work (after much
tweeking) after 98 has completly booted. How do I avoid this.

2) Where do I go for updates and Web Information?

As for your CD-ROM drive, check in the Device MAnager and see if there are
any problems listed in there. You might want to try upgrading your drivers.

Use "Windows Update," available on your start menu, for any updates that may
be available. Keep in mind, though, we're about 70 builds ahead of you so
some updates may work with Beta 3 and some might not. No guarantees.

1) What is your build number?

2) What are your specific problems?

I had a similar problem, when I installed Win98B3 over Win95.
Win95 detected the CD-ROM (Mitsumi FX400) but Win98 could not build
the drivers database after copying files for 15minutes and re-booting
the second (!) time
Any hints ?

My CD-ROM is a Creative 220E. Running as a slave of a HDD system has been
running ok on win 95. I upgraded to win98 now my CD-ROM only works in DOS
but not in Win98.

Does Device Manager [right-click on My Computer->Properties->click on Device
manager tab] recognize your CD-ROM?

Silly question: Are you loading up real mode drivers in your autoexec.bat and
config.sys files for your CD-Rom at startup? If so, Win98 might conflict with
those drivers. Just a guess.
