Some manufactures will not take a drive back until it has more than 10 bad
sectors. Check with the manufacturer of your drive about their return policy.
Most HD's carry 5 year warranties. I would backup your data and get a new
drive before it goes.
I typicaly like to keep a hard drive whole. I you want to run another OS, then
get another drive. This way when one drive goes you don't lose everything. If
your system's bios can't handle bigger drives, then install a hard drive bios
utility available from the respective HD manufacturer.
