As I've learned to use the windows environment over the past 2
years, my Windows directory has swelled to over 250MB. On a laptop with 1
gig that's a lot of space. Keep in mind that my 90mb swp file is not
included in that. I'm unwilling to do a complete format and reinstall,
because I'm using Win98 with FAT32 and all of my Win98 setup files are on my
HD... ie no CD rom.
I'm wondering what the consequences of booting into 98 and
then renaming the Windows directory to another name... like Win98. Then
reinstalling Windows 98 from within that boot into the c:\windows
directory. I could then delete the Win98 directory along with all of the
garbage... Can I do this or will the setup fail if it can't locate the
previous installation of Win98??
Any responses are welcome
