Hi there, sorry if this is a lamer question, but I intend to do a
clean install with a "final" OEM version of WinME. I am dead in the
water wihtout a factory boot disc or instructions on how to make one.
Can someone point me towards the way to installing this OS? Is there
a way to install without a boot disc? Does anyone know how to make a
boot disc?

In Win98 a person could run Fat32ebd.exe found in the tools folder. I
am thinking there is a similar operation for this version.

TIA,

You can still use this disk or any Windows 98 Emergency Startup Disk.
If you do not have such a disk, but your PC can boot off a CD, start
the Windows ME Setup on this way.

Another lamer question. How do I make my machine boot off CD. Just
by changing the BIOS? I thought the CD had to burned using spcial
software to make it a bootable CD. Am I wrong about that? Are u
saying that I can just make CDROM the first boot device in my BIOS and
WinME setup will start? If so, than I can handle that ;+)

Thanks Thorsten, or anyone else who may contribute.

That should work, Iron. OEM-CDs are bootable, so you do not need to
change the CD (what is impossible, since it can not be rewritten).
Change the boot order setting in the CMOS-Setup, so that your PC boots
off the CD.
