I can be watching a app output for 15mins and because no input
has been performed, the win98 preview disrupts my watching
stockmarket screens, etc and disconcerts me my bringing
up the desktop and minimizing my app
which is still actively displaying results, bummer..
Anyway to PERMANENTLY turn this NEW feature OFF ??

I set the harddrive turn-off feature to NEVER
from its default 30minutes, but this did nothing to
stop Win98 consumer preview from minimizing my
app and displaying desktop, any further ideas?

Dave,

Sorry, I don't understand the connection between hard drive time-out and
minimising applications and displaying the desktop?

Hard drive time-out (as far as I know) simply spins-down you disk,
applications should be unaffected - until you try to use them again when,
you may have to wait 2 or 3 seconds while the disk(s) spin-up again.

You or someone suggested I have a look at the powermanagement setttings since
it does have a timeout
control.
My computer does not have harddrive control so
it was reasonable to suspect that the 30minute default
of Win98 consoumer preview turning harddrive off
might be the culprit in my complaint...
IT WAS NOT!
Anyone got any further suggestions?
