I returned a 1.6 G hard drive that failed on me. I have heard that Western
Digital has been getting tons of returns and can't keep up with the flow. They
even tell you that they have long delays in returning product. Well, I
returned a 1.6G and three weeks later they send me a 4.0G drive! They have been
doing this to alot of people. I'm temped to smash all my Western Digital
drives and send them back for replacement/upgrade!

Just to let you know Lotrat you are not a isolated case. The exact
same thing happened to a friend of mine. I read on another news group
that one shop owner quit stocking WD due to their lack of quality
control.

I'd imagine them having a lot of 1.6gig drives still in stock is reaching
for the hand of fate a little bit. :-)
Anyone know if Seagate is receptive to problems?
