Problem with WIN98 and DVD drive

Hi,

I just upgraded to WIN98 Beta 3 and everything appears to be fine
except for the DVD drive. Everytime I try to use it, the system slows
to a crawl and then I get a message saying the drive is not ready. My
standard CD-ROM is unaffected though. I checked the device manager
and it indicates the device is functioning properly. The DVD drive
is a Creative labs DVD2240E

Can anyone here help me ??
