alright, here is a question I need info on if anyone has tried this
troubled path. I have a pc that already has Win NT 4.0 Workstation, we
have some programs by an outside firm that will not run under WinNT
because of its hardware protection layer. Plus, they say they will not
support problems under WinNT till their NT version is finished. So I
have to install Win 3.11 onto the d: drive which is still FAT. Not
thinking I would need to do something like this I went ahead and made C:
NTFS. This was all pre-installed at the factory, so knowing what I know
now, I would have made a partition for dos. Anyway, how do I install a
dual boot for such a set up with out having to reformat c:, I want to
put 3.11 on the D: drive, of if this is not possible, let me know.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Make a small BOOT-diskett that uses the DOS on drive D: and then BOOT
from that when you whant to run DOS.

PartitionMagic 3.0 due out 12-1-96 should be able to take NTFS drive and
move it down the drive, install IBM Boot Manager in the first 1meg and
set a new partition and convert it from NTFS to FAT for win3.11. Check
at www.powerquest.com

I would check the Dec '96 issus of Windows Sources(www.winsources.com) It
has a nice article about booting to win 3.1 and DOS from NT

Ok, I just installed NT 4.0 on my IBM model 750. It has OS/2 Boot manager
and I also get the three options when I reboot:

My only problem is that MS-DOS won't boot. When I select this option,
I get an error in the left hand corner of the screen--I think it was
1926 (like a power on message). Does anyone have any ideas on how I
can get DOS to boot from the harddrive again? Please email
arb...@cjnetworks.com. Thanks
