It is likely that IE4 will have trouble if you use software using
comctl32.dll. IE4 uses a newer version, and if you happen to install an
application containing it, this critical dll version will probably be
overwritten with an older one.

In my case I had ACDSee 2.0 installed, and after the 1500 upgrade it
crashed on comctl32.dll (thanks to Crashguard this was painless...)
I tried to locate the previous version, found it as comctl32.bak (it
seems 1500 backups any previous version found, tried to switch the .dll
and the .bak and after that explorer couldn't start!
I had then to switch back the dlls and all was ok.

It seems I'll have to find an alternative to ACDSee :-( which is
rather impossible... I haven't found out which other programs crash with
the new dll version ... If they do, don't touch any dlls!

I hope this is of help to people having trouble with IE4.

I had a similar problem with Fastraq Post Server, put the comctl32.dll for
ACDSee 2.0 in its directory, that fixed my problem.

Wow....thanks alot!! I have the same problem with ACDsee...It ticked me
off so much that I installed Vueprint instead. I hope that some Beta
tester tells them this...
