I LEARNED THE HARD WAY:
The following problem occured after I installed 1713.
Under "Paranoia" , I have always had the following option checked:
"Clear Document History at Logon", so others in my family who use the
computer after me cannot see what I've been up to as far as previous
documents or "graphics" files I have viewed. Well, after the 1713
upgrade, I "assumed" this feature was still working. IT WASN'T. I got
caught. (ouch). When I followed up to find out what went wrong, I went
into Tweak UI, and that option WAS STILL CHECKED, yet it wasn't
working.
The way I finally got it to work was I un-checked that option, then
re-started the computer. I went back in and re-checked that option
again. Now it works. I have tested it by opening documents to view,
then putting them away, then restarting the computer, and the
DOCUMENTS list on the START BUTTON does clear itself out now.

Anyway, I have apprieciated all the help I get from reading these news
postings, so here is my little contribution. I hope it can save some
poor soul from the big pain I incured for "assuming",..........
especially with a BETA operating system.

I have 1713 and TweakUL setup the same way and it works, but I will keep an eye
on it now. Thanks for the warning. Let us know when you're out of the dog
house.

I haven't, as yet had this problem. Out of curiosity were you using
Tweak UI for 98?

I checked my download archives. This version was downloaded as part
of a Power Toys Package called: ie4power.exe, 234kb, download date:
2/16/98. I believe this replaced the "original version" that came
out shortly after the Win95 release.

I cannot locate a version number. Is there a Win98 specific upgrade,
or is this one and the same?
