This can be done from the AUTOEXEC.BAT but I think that Windows ME
will not support it anymore, since it deletes such commands from the
AUTOEXEC.BAT automatically.
Also this is not recommended, since some applications use temporary
files to auto-save your work in the background. If your system
crashes, they can recover the data from the temporary files after you
have rebooted. If the temporary files have been wiped out during the
reboot, this is impossible.
I recommend to delete the contents of the TEMP folder before backing
up/defragging the drive. This you can do manually or from a batch
file.
