hello, I have windows98 installed on one disk and have a free disk on the
same machine. would it be ok to setup the beta 2000 on this second disk? I
have never dual booted, and want to learn but dont especially want to
jeopardize what files i do have on 98.

Thank You

Hello,
I had the same thought. On Friday, my brand new 2000 disks
showed up and I had a partition all set up for 2000 server. Read the
manual for the dual boot option. All in all it was a relatively
simple operation. In one of the first screens after loading the basic
files, there is a place to select advanced options. Click the one
that allows you to specify where 2000 will be loaded and stand back.
My installation was relatively simple and painfree. I am currently
running Win88SE and Windows 2000 server on a 4.3 gb WD hard drive with
an IBM 1.6 gb drive for storage. I recommend at least 64 mb ram and
suggest 128! This was the first time I tried a dual boot setup and am
very pleased with M$ for the ease of operation.
