I am not absolutely sure what the exact name of the routine. It's when the
Windows 95 call up a subroutine to check files, the structures, etc. (The
hard drive will go for a spin for about a 30 second period or more. It could
be defragging also but not sure.

This routine has a big disadvantage when connected to an ISP and using a
program that requires constant connection ie. a game. When the auto routine
kicks in (usually at times I do not want it to.. connected to the net) it
slows things down ridiculously or even better a message appears saying low on
memory. Even when I disable most of the TSR's it slow down considerably to
the point that I have to shut down the software. If I keep the connection
open this routine can take up to 10 minutes When I shut the down my current
program it, the routine, continues and finishes in its normal time.

Question

In the Beta:

Does the routine still exist in such a push on through attitude, you
might say, in that it just starts on its own even though you prefer it to
wait?
.
Can it be made to prompt you the user if it should continue or wait on
until an application (in this case a major application) is finished?

Is there anything I can do now for Windows 95?

This is my biggest bug about Windows 95 aside from the few others that I have
already dealt with on my own.

Thanks Andrew
