I have a Dell Dimension XPS P133s with a internal NEC CDR-1400 CD-ROM
drive.
After a successful install of the Win98 beta 3 disc I now find that the
final release Win98 upgrade disc will not start up on my cd drive. I can
hear the disc trying to start up about nine times but then stops. When I
click on the drive icon in windows explorer I get get an error message
saying the disc is not accessable. I have already got a replacement disc
from microsoft but the same thing happens again. The win98 beta disc and my
other cd's still work ok.

Anyone with a silmilar problem and a solution

If every CD you try to use works fine, except for two, then the two are bad not
the CD drive. This is still true even if they say Microsoft on them.
