I have a big IE 4.0 question. I'm an avid fan of keeping Netscape, and
want to know your experiences with Uninstalling IE 4.0 from the Win98
OS.
The trouble is I use 3DS Max R2 on a regular basis, which requires at
least IE 3 for its help system. I need opinions on how to go about
having the least amount of Internet Explorer on my computer, but enough
to at least run my 3DSMax help, AND still keep the OS in a clean and
updated state...has IE become such a fundamental object in Win98 that
this is no longer possible? I mean, I really don't use ANYTHING at all
from IE - I use Eudora for mail, and everyhing else through
Netscape...my only reason for keeping it is 3dsmax and if needs be, a
smooth OS. I want to be sure that future updates can still be
implemented easily (in other words, so I don't have to reinstall IE4,
apply the update, than uninstall IE4, etc, every time Microsoft release
a service update...)
So, any opinions are helpful, as I'll have Win98 installed when it comes
out. I'd like to prepare myself now. Thanks to all,
CG
