The reason you can't access the digital audio/wave on you card is due
to a driver that's loaded after installing the "upgrade". You can
disable it in the system.ini file of windows. I can't remember the
exact name...something like vwave.386

Since when was build 999 "Nashville" an early version of IE4? Build
999 was a beta of Win95/96/97 that added a few nifty features like
sliding menus. Correct me if I am wrong.

Actually Nasville was a beta on a number of things. It did have system
updates I know at least with the kernel, it included a
scheduler/e-mail utility that appended itself to explorer.exe of which
I see pieces in both Outlook and Internet mail and news. Also it
integrated microsofts browser right into the os, or at least hinted at
it. It was the first time that installing the os gave you an icon on
the desktop, which wasnt functional, for msie. It hinted that one
could browse web pages locally as if they were on the computer by msie
showing up as an icon directly under desktop in explorer, and being an
option in a window like explorer or control panelthat in later
releases of windows 95 also fuction as a mini explorer. this new ie
4.0 is incorporating these things I believe and more. Unfortunately
the graphical enhancements seem to have died with nashville and I fear
I will never experience the joy of single click activate again.
