M$ on the other hand charges $90 for Win '95, then to get a similar
package of programs you have to spend another $120 to $150. And don't
forget that all your old software is not guaranteed to work, so you will
be needing to buy the "upgrades."

Yea, too bad none of my new software will run.

I'll worry about it as soon as I find an old program I use that doesn't work.
On the upside, it actually installed, which is more than I can say for Warp.

"guaranteed to work"? IBM are guaranteeing that all Windows apps will work in
OS/2? News to me.

If you want the upgrades to take advantage of the new capabilities, buy them.
If you don't, use the old versions. They're more likely to work first time
with Win95 than with OS/2. And anyone expecting to buy new software in the
next couple of years can be that the Win95 versions will work on Win95, and
provide long filename support on every Win95 machine, for instance. Will they
work on OS/2? Will you be able to use long filenames without a reformat of
your hard drive?

So Fred, how much IBM stock do you own, anyway?
