ME and downloading

Is it just me or is ME much slower downloading, and internetting in general?
I have a dual system, ME anw W2K. When I download with W2k, it is at least
double the speed of ME. I use a cable modem, connected to a LAN. I also use
download accelerator. Hope to hear from somebody???

I have the same question.
I have a extern cable-modem on com2 (the only way to connect to the web
arround here) and with win98 i get between 7 to 9 kb and with WinMe i am
below 7kb.
Every 7 secondes the connection falls death stil for 1 a 2 sec. and then
it's moving on.
The settings are the same as in win98, what am i missing??
