Subject: HOW TO FIX BAD ICONS IN START MENU OF NT4.0

3.7.11: Sometimes the icons in my Start Menu are wrong

Status: The icons in the start menu may be incorrect after upgrading
to
Windows NT 4.0 Beta 2. The icons in the start menu may also change after

changing display settings which affect system fonts. This is a known
problem
with Windows NT 4.0 Beta 2. The problem will be fixed in the retail
release
of Windows NT 4.0. There is a workaround which will return the correct
icons
to the start menu.

Here is the workaround:
>(*do not type the quotation marks in the following steps*)
>
>1) Start a cmd window
>2) Kill explorer.exe using Task Manager
>3) In the cmd window, type "cd\%SystemRoot%"
>4) Type "attrib -h shelliconcache"
>5) Type "erase shelliconcache"
6) Restart explorer by typing "Start Explorer"

The correct icons should now be in the start menu.

here it is, i did this and it worked like a champ!
