Win98 power management on ThinkPad

I have Windows 98 beta 2 and installed it on a IBM ThinkPad 760XD.
Everything works nicely except that power management doesn't seem to
work. Standby, suspend and hibernate all don't work no matter how I try
to activate those features.

Any tips how to fix this?
