Hi all,

Despite some people like it, I think the sliding menus of Memphis
are so bad and woulk like to diable them.

I remember that in previous version, there was a tip on how to
do it (it was a .reg file to run).

Can anyone help me ?

Lionel

Go to Control Panel, Tweak UI and one of the tabs have a checkbox for
this. I can't remember which tab...

Hi Wilson,

I have been using tweakUI for months (version 1.1) and I don't know
of any setting to do it.

Mybe my question was not accurate: what I'd like to disable is the
fact that, when one click on the menu bar of a program, it opens
by sliding rather than instantaneously.

So if it is really in TweakUI, could U tell me where.... ?

Go to the General tab in TweakUI. Under "Effects" remove
the check in "Windows Animation." If it is not there simply
go to http://www.microsoft.com/Windows95 and choose
the Software Utilities option from Product Updates. Go
to Pwertoys & download the latest version of TweakUI.

There are no options to disable the Memphis menu sliding in TweakUI. The
Windows Animation checkbox only stops the usual animations (eg minimise and
maximise window).

Anyone know how to really disable it. Registry hack perhaps? Furthermore,
that slow gliding scrollbars are also getting right up my nose!

When you say "menu sliding" do you mean movable like the IE3 toolbars or
something different?

I don't use IE3 (but Netscape...). By "menu sliding", I mean that,
when U click on the menu bar of an app, it appears slowly in Memphis,
rather than instantaneously in win95.
