I installed a new server installed w2k server. Upgraded Hub to 100mbit
switch.
Migrated data from nt4 server, resetup accounts app. Now when client post
updates they look like I downgraded to 486's. The update of data on the
server from a client used to be a fraction of a second and is now 2 3 or 4
seconds for same update?
Any idea's
Thanks

Windows 2000 is slower than NT, just like XP is 30% slower than 2000.
Without knowing specifics, your options are:
1. Upgrade hardware (cheapest and easiest upfront solution).
2. Go back to NT (bit of a cop out, but would solve your problem).
3. Switch to an enterprise server platform OS like UNIX or Linux (best
longterm solution, but most painful up front).
Cheers,
Mark
You'll need to provide a few more details, like what it is you're posting,
how big it is, etc. You also need to confirm the network settings. Forcing
servers and clients to full duplex when they really can't do it is a major
reason for a slowdown. You also may have name resolution problems.
