I have a similar problem when I try to run Roxio Easy Cd
Creator 5 which I reinstalled post-crash. The
installation of this program looks fine, but it just won't
run -- no error message, just nothing happens.
As a test I also installed CD Stomper to see if it too
would have trouble running (to see if this was an across-
the-board problem with running apps). It installed fine
and ran fine too. So, I'm stumped.
I just want to get the CDRW drive working so that I can
offload data files before reformatting the drive and
installing XP. The CD drive IS recognized by the OS
(shows up in Windows Explorer) and it reads fine
(installed software from CD's). I suspect that it also
writes fine except that I just don't have a way to write
to it since the Easy CD software won't run for me and I can't download
any updates or other CD writing software since IE won't run.
ANY ideas are appreciated! Thanks.
Maybe a corrupt file is also what's bothering Roxio.
There might be nothing more than trial and error.
B.t.w. roxio does not run out of the box on XP, you need a fix for that,
available at roxio.
Succes.
