To anyone,

I was wondering if anyone can suggest what and who are good sources
for Windows NT training. At my workplace, we are getting ready to move
from Intergraph UNIX based systems to Windows NT systems. I'm not much
of a PC/Windows person. Most of my experience comes from Sys Admining,
Intergraph's UNIX platforms. Intergraph is pretty much moving away from
their version of UNIX called CLIX and betting on NT. I would prefer to
go to a specialized NT training class which teaches Sys. Admin. for NT,
but I may not be able to get my company to send me to a training site.

I did notice that there was a self-study NT course that is published by
MicroSoft Press in a bookstore some time ago. I think it is titled
"Windows NT Training". I think it contains a book on NT workstation and
one on NT Server. I believe there is a video tape include to. Is this
course worth looking into? Are there other self-study course(s) that are
geared toward learing both NT workstation and NT server? If you have
recommendations about specific training classes/sites, please list them?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Wayne Lee

I just saw the MS Training Kit in my local Bookstore, and I am
very interested in it. But being that I'm a full time CS student who
probably won't hit the mainstream workforce (I do work as a helpdesk
consultant now, but I want to be a developer) for about 3 more years,
I was wondering if you might offer some advice.

My goal is to "be" a C++ developer of Win NT applications. I
thought the MS certification would be a huge feather in my cap,
especially when I'm fresh out of school with no NT development
experience.

My questions are:

After doing the course material how do I take the test?

How much does the test cost?

What exactly is the qualification or title which
will be bestowed upon me after successfully completing
the test?

How much time do you think it will take to complete
the training necessary to be prepared for the test?

Thanks in advance to any and all who reply.

Microsoft tests are $100 from Drake, Novell's are $85.
