I am planning on setting up an Internet site for academic purposes and
would like to use NT on a PC. Can anyone add to (or correct) the
information I have obtained so far about the availability of
various Internet protocols:

WWW - HTTPS, available from ftp.microsoft.com in the Windows NT 3.5
resource kit.

WAIS - NT 3.5 resource kit.

Gopher - NT 3.5 Resource kit.

FTP - Included in NT 3.5 Software.

Finger - Include in NT 3.5 Software (???)

Telnet - A shareware program for rlogin and telnet on Intel platforms
written by Alex Miller of Ataman software is available from:
ftp://rmii.com/pub2/ataman/products/atrls16i.zip

SMTP/POP - A shareware program is available from:
http://www.net-shopper.co.uk/software/ntmail/ntmail06.zip

CGI Scripting - Perl for NT is available from ftp.cica.indiana.edu

News - A excellent _free_ nntp server is on:
ftp.wa.com /pub/local/ntnews/nns-latest.zip

DNS - A DNS server is included in the NT 3.5 resource kit, though lots of
people claim it to be slow.
