Is/will it be possible to add an NT 5.0 server to a NT 4.0 domain? It
is my understanding that you will not be able to do so.

Of course, if you need to recover the system, the NT4 CD-ROM won't recognise
the NTFS 5 partition as valid.

Would win2000 convert ALL partitions from ntfs to ntfs5???
Does win2000 destroy the system if the the machine is at
sp3 level? The above statements are still TRUE since there
are **restrictions** to the "compatibility"; saying nt4
is compatible with win2000 is a deliberate misleading
statement like what microsoft does.

He's not asking for compatibility on the SAME machine....he's asking
whether he can add a 5 machine into a 4 Domain

Yes.

That's what I'm doing at the moment (with Beta3 as a member server). You
can't use any Active Directory stuff without W2K Domain Controllers though.
I'm not sure I'd want to mix up DC versions - sounds like trouble to me.
