Indexing virtual roots...

I am running MS IIS 2.0 and and Index Server 1.1 on an intranet and have
some trouble with indexing virtual roots. Do I need to set the
variables
PROOT_/ = \\clientname\INETPUB and INDEX_/ = \\clientname\INETPUB? If so
where?

The documentation also mentioned logonID for a remote virtual root to be
set with
domain\username?

Does anyone know anything about this?
All help would be very much appreciated.
