Hi, I first noticed that while waiting for websites to load into my
browser (IE 6.0) http://prolivation.com/cgi-bin/r.cgi? appears at the
start of the URL. Also, when I checked my homepage settings I noticed
that instead of it being set to www.google.com it had been altered to
http://prolivation.com/cgi-bin/r.cgi?www.google.co.uk??

Can anyone explain this..??

Many thanks,

Nick

In article <e16017de.04010...@posting.google.com>,
Nichola...@btopenworld.com says...

You have been infected by spyware. Everywhere you go, that prolivation
site is tracking you.

One removal site is here:
http://www.pchell.com/support/prolivation.shtml

IMMEDIATELY download Ad-aware and run it to scan for other nasty
programs:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

As a backup, also get Spybot Search and Destroy:
http://www.safer-networking.org/

Both programs do the same basic thing, but have their own strengths and
weaknesses. Don't forget to run their update options to get the latest
definitions.
