device VGASAVE?

I have a problem trying to change my display driver. My machine always
tends to go back to the standard vga adapter. Ive tried installing 3rd
party drivers and using the ones that come on the windows NT cd. I have
windows NT 4.0 with SP 3. I have a S3 virge video card. I noticed under
devices in the control pannel I have a device called vgasave. This makes me
wonder if that is what is causing the problem. As soon as i disable it and
restart the machine i get a blue screen saying device_driver missing or
corrupted and then it dumps. Anyone got any ideas?
