Is there a keystroke in NT that will close all the windows on the desktop?
I don't mean minimze them to the taskbar (though I'd like to know how to
do that too) but make them disappear.
I'm getting really tired of hitting Alt-F4 and esp. going with my cursor
and hitting the close button for every window I've got displayed on the
screen.
If anyone can reveal to me the keystroke that could solve my dilemma and
save me some cursor time, hey, I'd really appreciate it.

thanks,

Elizabeth,

As far as I know there's no key combination for closing all open windows,
but you can minimise them all by pressing Winkey + M. Press Shift + Winkey +
M to undo minimise all.

Hope this helps...

hi, Elizabeth.
I don't know a keystroke that will CLOSE all desktop windows(except
CTRL+ALT+DEL), but if you have a newer keyboard with a "windows" key,
you can press it and the "m", which will minimize all windows. If you press
WINDOWSKEY+SHIFT+M, it will restore all windows.
You could also press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC, which will bring up task mgr. You
can select the APPLICATIONS tab, and close all apps from there.

Best wishes.....Hugh

Well, there's a way to close all the Windows on the desktop, but actually it
works just wit a single mouseclick. Just keep shift pressed and click on the X
(close icon), and all the "father" windows should close automatically. This
works for Explorer windows but not for programs.
