I am getting a 734 Error: "The PPP Link Control Protocol Terminated",
during the phase of "Registering my computer on the network"

I am getting past the Verifying my username and password and get the
error in Registering my computer on the network. I suspect there is a
problem with the PPP handshaking. Any suggestions. I have posted
fixes for the 629 error. I need help with the 734 error.

* I am connecting to an ISP that assigns an IP address to me.
* In Win 95 I donot need a Terminal Window. I tried both a terminal
window and no terminal window in NT 4.0
* I am using Accept only encrypted authentication (Had also tried the
other two options to no avail.

Any Ideas, my setting are:
1. In Start/Programs/Accessories/Dial-up Networking, I checked "I am
calling the Internet"

2. In the Dial-up networking Dialog Box, after selecting the More
button I selected: Choose Edit Entry and Modem Properties

Here is where I think the error must be or else I need a script file
In the Server tab (The * means that I selected the option)
Select Dial-up sever type: PPP, Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet
* Server Assigned IP address
* Specify Name Server Address
* Use IP header compression
* Use default gateway on remote network
* Enable software compression
* Enable PPP LCP extension (If you do not enable, you will get 629)

I did not check either options
IPX/SPX Compatible or NetBEUI

If you resolve my problem, please let me know by posting and via email
to eric...@sure.net

NT 4.0 is not fun yet

I also had the same problem with my ISDN Card. Here are a few suggestions:

- Disable LCP PPP extensions.
- If you have a 3COM 3C509 Card in your system, remove it
Finally, in my case I had to reinstall NT. This worked fine with the above
mentioned restrictions.
