Hello All,

I understand that if you have win95 you can use its defragger. How
about if you have DOS but not win95. Will a defragger work under DOS.
Is there any conflict with long filenames or anything like that. If I
can just boot to DOS and defrag my drive until such time as I get a
hold of a real defragger, that would be cool.
Also, could I run something like scandisk under DOS. I have the
machine dual booted for DOS and Win NT 4.0
Thanx for any advice

If you have long file names, all of that information will be lossed
using a DOS defrag utility. Win95 Defrag understands the long file
names which is why it works.

What's the name of the program and where is it available?

DO NOT use the DOS defragger on a Win95 or Winnt FAT
file system. Both use (by default) long filenames that
will be corrupted by the DOS defrag.
