Hello All !..

I have PCMCIA network adapter
Compex LinkPort Enet-B. (10 Mb/s)
It is working without problems under W95-98,
but it does not under Win NT 4.0 (on any protocols).
We installed it on 3 different vendors notebooks - no results. 8-(

In PCMCIA card properties (why-that written there it's vendor is
Tamarack) CARDINFO tab is that "The device is working properly".
But in DRIVER tab is "The driver installed and started, but didn't
configure this device."
I can't configure it because the CONFIGURE knob is available, but
after pressing it occurs nothing.
In the tab RESOURCES there is memory range "D4000-????" !!
Have anyone some experience about that?
(Of course, fresh drivers from vendor site, IRQs and so on was
tested.)

Successes and good lucks for all!
Igor.

I have a different Compex ethernet card, but like yours mine would only work
under 95/98/ME, and not at all under NT/Win2k, then I found a solution that
worked for me.
For some cards at least, Compex have programs that will access the nvram on
the card. If there is one for your card, download it and see how the card is
really setup.
You will find something useful at http://www.compex.com.sg/tech_support.html

The MEMORY range "D4000-????" reported in RESOURCES is most likely the
address space reported by the card for a boot rom. If you can do, try
disabling this boot rom space. That is what worked for me.
